NAMES IN SILENCE
Carolina Perez
This linguistic richness is evident in a family of 44 members, which one of them is deaf and introduces with his knowledge a unique and exceptional way of give a visual and silent name to each member, collecting their personal and physical characteristics. In that way a sign is attributed to each person that in seconds summarizes what defines it, making a clear recognition within the family.

HINTER GITTERN
Carolina Arciniegas
Windows reflect public space, while enabling to peek into the stories contained inside. And there’s one thing unique to Bogotá windows: the iron bars in front of them. Beautifully designed, handcrafted, decorated, full of creativity. In a huge and dangerous city they protect and honor the meaning of ‘home’. But bars also awake the impression of imprisonment. They secure, but they lock you inside, reenforcing the concept of a dangerous outside. Pretty prisons, but prisons nonetheless. These are 45 iron bar design found in different parts of Bogotá.

DAY STATUES
Miguel Rodriguez
These 45 symbols are based on the mood I have when I’m sitting in my workspace, either studying, working or playing, its a very personal aspect of my life because most of the time I’m in some of these three activities. Each symbol has a literal part and a emotional part, this is represented by the lines expressing the imaginary that are my thoughts, and the real, that is my body.

VISUAL SLANG
Sergio Mantilla
“VISUAL SLANG” born from the search and investigation of characteristic expressions of my country. Allows the graphical display of statements and expressions generated from the union of words which blends the literal meaning of the same and its double meaning. The project’s main interest lies in the need to show Bogota and Colombia from a unique perspective from adaptations that we, ourselves have made our language. My images aim to show the spontaneous and the funny slang of my country.
